Candyce Davis
Candyce D. Davis, 63, of Pittsburgh, died Friday, July 6, 2018.
She was born July 4, 1955, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Harold and Gloria Dudley Butler.
She was Baptist.
Prior to her retirement, Candyce worked as a unit secretary for Allegheny General Hospital for 33 years.
She enjoyed making scrapbooks, cards, candles and crafts. She was a charitable person, who donated regularly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
She was a member of the Lady’s Original Gang in Canonsburg.
Surviving are her son, James Davis of Pittsburgh; daughter Azizzi Davis of Verona; daughter-in-law Melissa Davis of Pittsburgh; her loving companion, Willie Sims of Pittsburgh; brothers Harold Butler of Pittsburgh and Clarence Butler of Canonsburg; sisters Tamara (Leonard) Williams of Washington, Beatrice (Andy) Salat of Washington, Rhonda Butler of Canonsburg, Evelyn Butler of Strabane and Nikki Breaux of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren, Annika, Alexander “A.J.” and Mary Catherine; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of services, Friday, July 13, in Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Canonsburg, with the Rev. Anita Lovell officiating. Burial will be private.
The family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made in Candyce Davis’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
