Margaret Cox
Margaret Cox, 79, of Midway, died Thursday, July 5, 2018, in Concordia Hospice of Washington.
She was born May 21, 1939, in McDonald, a daughter of the late Charles J. and Clara Capitani Brenkus.
Mrs. Cox was retired from employment at Fab-Tec Industries Inc. in Coraopolis, Iron City Sash and Door Co. in Green Tree, where she was treasurer, and Daco Machine & Fab in Washington. She was also a co-owner of Cox Machine Shop in Midway.
She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Bulger, where she formerly served on the finance committee. She was also a member of Center United Presbyterian Church quilting group and Eight Spots Card Club.
Mrs. Cox enjoyed needlework, hand-quilting, playing cards, watching the Steelers and Penguins and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Richard H. Cox; her children, daughter Lori A. (Jeffrey) Gilmer of Indianapolis, Ind., and son Richard A. Cox of Washington; grandson J.D. (Lauren) Gilmer; granddaughters Ashley (Joe) Lucas and Nicole E. (Nathan) Thompson; and great-grandchildren Leah and Nicholas Gilmer and Gavin and Emma Lucas.
She was preceded in death by her brother, John C. Brenkus.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 106 St. John Street, Midway, 724-796-3301. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12, in St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, 967 Grant Street, Bulger, PA 15019.
