James T. Stevens
James T. Stevens, 98, of Waynesburg, died at 2:52 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018, in University Hospitals-Geauga Medical Center, Chardon, Ohio.
He was born Saturday, February 7, 1920, in Washington, a son of the late Steve Stevens and Alma Mae Dagg Stevens.
He belonged to the Purple Heart Organization and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II in the 77th Infantry.
He was a plumber for many years.
He supported St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital with his wife for many years. He enjoyed spending time with family, boating and camping. He loved spending time with his dog, Cody. He also loved water skiing and roller skating whenever he was able.
In 1969, he married his wife, Evelyn Mae Stevens, who died December 27, 2016.
Surviving are a daughter, Kim Dulaney of Pittsburgh; three sons, James T. (Alison) Stevens II of Richeyville, Brandon (Kylee) Stevens of Washington and Terry (Judy) Stevens of Washington; and a grandson, Mark (Erica) Stevens of Bentleyville.
Deceased are a daughter, Sharon Leonard, and a sister, Jane Grimm.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Friday, July 13, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, with Pastor Scott Chambers officiating. Burial will be in Oakmont Cemetery, Waynesburg. Graveside military rites to be accorded by James Farrell American Legion Post 330 and representatives of the U.S. Army.
