Louis Henry Lepro

Louis Henry Lepro, 77, of Avella, lost his hard-fought battle with cancer Wednesday, July 11, 2018, in Premier Washington Health Center, Chartiers Township.

He was born September 27, 1940, at home in Midway, a son of the late Louis N. and Viola Finney Lepro.

Mr. Lepro was a member of the first graduating class of Fort Cherry High School in 1960.

He was employed as a driver for Port Authority of Allegheny County for eight years. He owned and built Maple Hill Mobile Home Park in Midway, then went into the construction field until his retirement in 2002.

During his retirement, he enjoyed many years volunteering at Burgettstown Food Pantry and going fishing. Most especially, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, to whom he taught many skills.

He was a member of Eldersville United Methodist Church, Avella Sportsmen Club and the former SNPJ Lodge 292.

On March 17, 1962, in Center Presbyterian Church, McMurray, he married Carolyn Addis, who survives.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Sara Renee (Robert) Harvey of Hickory; a son, James Louis (Bonnie) Lepro of Midway; four grandchildren, Shane Allen Harvey of Midway, Joshua Robert Harvey of Hickory, Corporal Daniel James Lepro of Okinawa, Japan, and Katrina Elena Lepro of Midway; and many nieces and nephews.

He leaves behind his beloved dog, Daisy May, who faithfully visited him on Saturdays.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a brother, William, and three sisters, Beryle DeSantis, Erla Young and Irene Berthold.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Taucher Chapel, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 16, with the Rev. Doug Reinard officiating. Interment will follow in Center Cemetery, Midway.
