Charles Foley

Charles “Mike” Foley, 63, of Mt. Morris, died at 12:47 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., after a brief illness.

He was born Sunday, April 24, 1955, in Waynesburg, a son of the late David D. Foley and Stella A. Kesner Foley.

Mr. Foley lived his entire life in Greene County. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lippencott, where he taught Sunday school, was a Sunday school superintendent, served as a deacon and was the all-around handyman and cook at many church events.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and Civil War re-enacting. He was a member of the 140th PA Volunteers re-enactment unit.

For 42 years, he worked primarily as a carpenter in the physical plant at West Virginia University.

Mr. Foley is survived by his wife, Karen Kay Edgar Foley, whom he married March 6, 1974; two daughters, Cassandra Foley of Waynesburg and Jennifer Foley of Morgantown; a son, Daniel Foley of Mt. Morris; two grandsons, Cameron and Damian Gump of Waynesburg; a sister, Sharon (Kenny) Tennant of Carmichaels; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a sister, Patsy, and three brothers, Sonny, Don and Jerry.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478, Mt. Morris, PA 15349. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Nick Bardo and the Rev. William Parker officiating. Burial will be in Blacksville Cemetery, Blacksville, W.Va.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Camp Carmel, 660 Camp Carmel Road, Dunbar, PA 15431.
