Joseph Siwiak

Joseph Siwiak, 80, of Canonsburg, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018, in Canonsburg Hospital.
He was born December 4, 1937, in Pittsburgh, to Joseph S. Siwiak and Genevieve Bucynski Siwiak, who preceded him in death.
On February 24, 1962, he married Antoinette “Sue” M. Liscotti, who survives.
Mr. Siwiak was a veteran, serving his country in the U.S. Navy, where he was awarded a Navy Occupation Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 553, Strabane, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191, Canonsburg.
Mr. Siwiak was a retired postal supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service. He was also a faithful member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg.
He had many hobbies and interests, including landscaping, working out and watching his favorite television shows. He could often be found on his porch swing with his two faithful companions, GeGo and Sammy Jo, by his side.
In addition to his loyal wife, he is survived by six sons, Joseph Siwiak and wife Jeanine of Latrobe, Steven Siwiak and companion Nicole of Canonsburg, Thomas Siwiak (late wife Traci) of Houston, Anthony Siwiak and wife Shellie of Charleroi, James Siwiak and wife Gena of Canonsburg and John Siwiak and wife Lora of Cranberry; sister Joan Polen and husband George of North Carolina; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD, owner/supervisor, Darla A. Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 24. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will follow at 11 a.m. in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Cecil Township, with full military rites accorded by the U.S. Navy and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191, Canonsburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to masses held at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church or to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
