Del Jean Haddad
Del Jean Haddad, 90, of Bentleyville, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018, in her home.
She was born July 23, 1928, in Ellsworth, a daughter of the late Carl and Dorothy Blackburn Pierce.
Del Jean was a 1946 graduate of Bentleyville High School.
On November 13, 1949, she married Louis Haddad, who died May 11, 1996.
Mrs. Haddad and her husband owned and operated Lou’s Dari-Delite in Bentleyville from 1958 to 1995.
Del Jean was a former member of St. Michael’s Antiochian Orthodox Church in Monessen.
She was a member of Mon Valley Hospital Auxiliary, where she volunteered for more than 19 years. She was also a member of Democratic Women’s Club and bowling leagues in Bentleyville for many years.
Surviving are two children, John Haddad of Washington and Joan Rakosky (Gregory) of Fallowfield; four grandchildren, Louis Haddad of Washington, Malory Haddad of Cecil, Justin Rakosky of Fallowfield and Jenna Rakosky of Weatherford, Texas; a great-grandson, Kaydan Haddad of Cecil; a brother, William Pierce of the state of California; a sister, Leota Reale (Sam) of Kent, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are an infant daughter; three brothers, Carl “Bud,” James and Joel Pierce; and a sister, Patricia Hartford.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, with the Rev. George Lammay officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bentleyville Public Library, 931 Main Street, Bentleyville, PA 15314, and Bentleyville Volunteer Fire Department, 900 Main Street, Bentleyville, PA 15314.
