Betty Marcella Pienkosky, 71, of Washington, died Sunday, July 29, 2018, in Transitions Healthcare, South Strabane Township.

She was born December 11, 1946, in Washington, a daughter of the late John Thomas Craig Sr. and Kathryn Poskosky Craig.

Betty was a 1964 graduate of Washington High School. She worked as a medical transcriptionist at Washington Hospital for 35 years, retiring in 2009.

She was a member of Glenn Street Free Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the hospitality committee.

Betty enjoyed taking care of her family.

On May 29, 1970, she married John Pienkosky, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Justin (Julie Crouse) Pienkosky of Washington; two brothers, Earl Craig of Imperial and John T. Craig Jr. of Ambridge; a half sister, Virginia Matijevich of Burgettstown; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a daughter, Lisa Pienkosky; a half sister, Mary Ann Alsko; and a half brother, Andrew Bardosky.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 3, with the Rev. Robert Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
