Frank Leroy Koskey Sr.
Frank Leroy “Sonny” Koskey Sr. did not need to wait for any instructions on how to use his angel wings as he started running into the welcoming arms of his family and friends as he passed through the gates of Heaven Saturday, June 2, 2018, while surrounded by his loving wife and their six children.
He was born December 22, 1947, on the family farm on Barneys Run Road, Fredericktown, a son of the late Stanley and Nettie Presock Koskey.
He graduated from Bethlehem-Center High School in 1968, married Dolores “Dee” Zellie July 6, 1968, and was drafted September 7, 1968, into the U.S. Army. He served on the nuclear barge, USS Sturgis, in the Panama Canal. After completing his military service, he worked as a belt mechanic in J&L Vesta 5 coal mine.
Frank was a member of Clarksville Missionary Church.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved and enjoyed many years of camping at Benners Meadow Run Camping and Cabins. He was a loving husband and dedicated father and grandfather to six children and 12 grandchildren. He touched the lives of many beyond his immediate family and friends and will be dearly missed by all.
Frank is survived by his wife, Dolores “Dee” Zellie Koskey; six children and their families, daughter Renee Koskey (Elliot) of Fredericktown and children, Nathan and Alisha; son Frank Koskey Jr. (Taylor) of Maui, Hawaii, and children, Gunnar and Madison; daughter Carrie Kondratiuk (Paul) of Fredericktown and son Austin; daughter Regina Stepp (Jason) of Marianna and children Jessica, Justin and Jacob; son Jason Koskey (Jennifer) of Maui and children Noah and Sayler; son Eric Koskey and children Raeah and Riley; and nieces and nephews, Carl Zellie, and Roseann, Vincent, Edie, Philip, Sharon and Thomas Dosa.
In addition to his parents, deceased are two sisters, Nancy and Rose Marie; two brothers, Stanley Edward and Chester Anthony; and his mother-in-law, Bertha Zellie.
Friends will be received from noon to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 42 Bank Street, Fredericktown, where services will be held at noon Thursday, June 7, with the Rev. Carl Liepold officiating. Interment will be private.
