Rayetta Gesselberty
Rayetta Gesselberty, 69, of Hendersonville, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018.
She was the beloved wife of 52 years to Frank Gesselberty; loving mother of Francis (Paula) Gesselberty and John (Carolyn) Gesselberty; proud grandmother of John, Elizabeth, Victoria and Joshua Gesselberty; caring sister of Jeanne Guthrie, the late Maurice Moffet and Sylvia McGraw; and daughter of the late Ray and Elizabeth Schroeder. Many loving nieces and nephews also survive.
She also leaves behind her faithful canine companion, Moose.
She was a Pittsburgh girl and, of course, an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan. Rayetta enjoyed one of life’s simplest gifts: the beach, especially with her family. Her four grandchildren were the light of her life. Most of all, Rayetta will be remembered for her love of family. Sunday family dinners were a must in the Gesselberty household, and those are the memories her family will hold so dear.
In 1994, Rayetta was given the gift of life again with a lung transplant. She was one of the longest living lung transplant recipients at 23 years. The Gesselberty family would like everyone to remember to give the gift of life and choose organ donation.
Family and friends are welcome from 5 to 7 p.m., the time of a prayer service, Monday, June 4, in Beinhauer-Fryer Funeral and Cremation Services, 430 Washington Avenue, Bridgeville, 412-221-3800.
