Shirley E. Bauer, 84, of Washington, died Friday, June 1, 2018, in The Grove at Washington.

She was born April 14, 1934, in Washington, a daughter of the late Frank L. and Elizabeth Crupe Byers.

Mrs. Bauer attended Claysville schools and was a homemaker.

She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.

Mrs. Bauer was a member of Washington Alliance Church.

On January 3, 1950, she married James Regis Bauer Sr., who died July 6, 2016.

Surviving are a son, James R. (Robin) Bauer Jr. of Claysville; two daughters, Freddie (Dave) Lloyd of Stockbridge, Mich., and Bonnie (Bob) Dicks of Washington; eight grandchildren, David (Jeanie) Lloyd, Kim (Jeremy) Killinger, Rhonda (Kevin) Cathers, Joshua (Dana) Rush, Jeremy (Jennifer) Rush, Jaime (Jason) Anderson, Rick (Kerri) Bauer and Janelle (Mike) Belvin; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Deceased are grandson Frank Lloyd and brother James (Dorothy) Byers.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, in Washington Alliance Church, 246 Sanitarium Road, Washington, with the Rev. C.D. Croscutt officiating. Burial will follow in West Alexander Cemetery.
