Terri L. McBurnie Suchy

Terri L. McBurnie Suchy, 51, of Long Branch Borough, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018, in H.J. Heinz VA Hospice Center, Aspinwall.
She was born October 26, 1966, in Rahway, N.J., a daughter of B. Darlene Spinner McBurnie and D. Richard McBurnie of Long Branch. Terri graduated from California High School, Class of 1984, with highest honors, received her associate’s degree from Douglas School of Business and graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of arts degree. She was a senior airman in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and was deployed from the 911th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, Pittsburgh ARS PA to Kuwait from November 2003 to 2004, during Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom and served as a medical services journeyman.
She was a member of Hope Center Church, Belle Vernon, Charleroi American Legion Post 22, Charleroi ALA Unit 22 and a life member of Disabled American Veterans. Terri was a Westmoreland County certified nurse’s aide and an Air Force Reserve emergency medical technician.
In addition to her parents, Terri is survived by daughter Janelle Suchy Carpenter and husband Nick of Charleroi; son Travis Micjan of Vanleer, Tenn.; sister Linda McNaney of Monessen; three brothers, Tim McBurnie and wife Lori of Painesville, Ohio, and Richard J. McBurnie and Danny A. McBurnie, both of Charleroi; and two grandchildren, Tyler Micjan of Virginia and Liam Carpenter of Charleroi.
Terri was preceded in death by grandson Dillan Micjan of Virginia in 2014.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 226 Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, with Pastor Jeff Marton. Interment will be private in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, with full military rites performed by Charleroi American Legion Post 22. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to H.J. Heinz VA Hospice Unit, 1010 Delafield Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15215.
