Josephine Jacobs

Josephine “Pepa” Jacobs, 98, of Langeloth, passed away Sunday evening, June 3, 2018, in Washington Hospital.

She was born July 11, 1919, in Clarksburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Jesus and Dolores “Lola” Gonzalez.

A 1937 graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown, she retired from ACE Reconditioning in Washington, where she worked on the Pittsburgh Steelers uniforms and equipment for many years.

Josephine was a lifelong member of Langeloth Community Presbyterian Church. She was known for her skills as a baker, especially pies and cookies that warranted blue ribbons. In addition to baking, she was an avid seamstress who loved dolls. Not only did she collect dolls, but she sold them within the tri-state area.

Surviving are her two sons, Joseph Jacobs and wife Nancy of Washington and Robin Jacobs and wife Denise of Cleveland, Ohio; a granddaughter, Victoria; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Jake” Jacobs; six brothers, Buff, Beanie, Pete, Buzz, Pin and Corky, and four sisters, Jane, Mary, Catherine and Anita.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of services, Friday, June 8, in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Florence.
