Robert Harold Myers

Robert Harold Myers, 70, of Washington, died Friday, June 1, 2018, in Donnell House, Washington.

He was born April 17, 1948, in Windber, a son of the late William and Anna Salargo Myers.

Mr. Myers graduated from Adams Summerhill School in 1966 and Clarion University, with a degree in English, in 1970. He worked as an English and reading teacher in McGuffey School District for 33 years. He was also a basketball and track coach.

He was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting with his brothers, and loved crossword puzzles. In addition, he enjoyed outside handyman chores in the summer.

On August 23, 1969, he married Peggy Shandor, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Kenneth (Monica) Myers of Canonsburg; a daughter, Kimberly Miller of Washington; three brothers, Charles (JoAnn) Myers of St. Michael, William (Angela) Myers of Shippensburg and Bernard (Sandy) Myers of Mineral Point; six sisters, Hope (Don) Scimonelli of Bowie, Md., Charity (John) Reid of Easton, Mary Myers, Catherine Holdsworth of Summerhill, Ardith Anzola of Gainesville, Ga., and Patience (Tom) Varljen of Glendale; five grandchildren, Mason Myers, Shawn Myers, Mickayla Prowitt, Savannah Myers and Kendall Myers; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a son, Matthew Myers, and a sister, Faith Musante.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation or service. Arrangements were entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., Washington.
