Mary Jane Hartman

Mary Jane Hartman, 74, of Shippenville, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018, in her home following an extended illness.
Born May 29, 1944, Mary Jane was a daughter of the late William and Thelma Bonar.
Mary Jane graduated from McGuffey High School. She worked as a secretary at Valley Camp Coal, Womeldorf Trucking Co. and Beckwith Equipment.
On August 12, 1975, Mary Jane married Gordon Hartman, who survives.
Mary Jane served as a secretary and treasurer for Shippenville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, traveling, golf, visiting with family, NASCAR races and watching the Pirates.
Along with her husband, surviving are a son, Gary (Lisa) Hartman of Kossuth; three grandchildren, Natalie (Jeff) Wiant, Nate Hartman and Aimee Hartman, all of Kossuth; two sisters-in-law, Sherri Bonar of Claysville and Dianna Hovis of Franklin; and a special friend, Carol Linden of West Palm Beach, Fla. Mary Jane is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Jolley, Brent (Brenda) Bonar, Lori (Myron) Mansfield, Dan (Christine) Bonar, Brandon Bonar and Jessica Bonar.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents; sister Mildred Jean Jolly; brother William Bonar; and two brothers-in-law, Richard Hovis and Charles Jolley.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home Inc., 504 East Penn Street, Knox, and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, in Shippenville United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with Pastor Keith Deihl officiating. Interment will follow in Emmanuel Cemetery, Shippenville.
