Clifford L. Blackburn

Clifford L. “Skip” Blackburn, 88, of Indiana, formerly of Waynesburg, died at 2:22 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018, in Indiana Square Personal Care Home.

He was born Monday, November 18, 1929, in Fredericktown, a son of the late John W. Blackburn and Bertha Rice Blackburn.

Mr. Blackburn was a longtime member of Bates Fork Baptist Church in Sycamore, where he was an usher and trustee. He was a life member of American Legion Post 391, Fredericktown, and an active member of Waynesburg Senior Center.

He was a veteran, retiring from the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division with more than 20 years of service.

Surviving are a sister, Ruth Ann Cutwright of Carmichaels; his extended family; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are five sisters, three brothers and his companion, Goldie Smith.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 11, with the Rev. Cristy Wise officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township, with graveside military rites accorded by James Farrell American Legion Post 330 and representatives of the U.S. Army.
