Melvin Kozich

Melvin Kozich, of Rices Landing, died Sunday, June 10, 2018, on his 90th birthday.
He was born June 10, 1928, in Wellsburg, W.Va., a son of the late Peter and Mary Alemick Kozich.
Melvin was a self-employed appliance repairman. He also was a coal miner at Crucible Mine and Vesta 5.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 816, Rices Landing, and United Mine Workers of America.
On October 7, 1959, he married Catherine D. Sauers, who died October 22, 2017.
Surviving are two sons, William Kozich Sr. and wife Joanne of Rices Landing and Lee Kozich and wife Heather of Rices Landing; nine grandchildren, William Kozich Jr., Lee (Brandee) Kozich II, Bryan (Ariel) Kozich, Andrea (Kyle) Erickson, Brandon Kozich, Hannah Kozich, Carrie Murray, Brennan Kozich and Caitlynn Kozich; and two great-grandchildren, Emily Riley and Jaxon Kozich.
Deceased are two sisters, Dorothy Bochnak and Mildred Schwab; and four brothers, Pete, Nick, Joe and Mike.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14. Entombment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township, with military honors accorded by the U.S. Army.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Rices Landing Fire Department, 66 Bayard Avenue, Rices Landing, PA 15357.
