Gladys Nadik

Gladys Nadik, 94, of Clinton (Hanover Township), died Sunday evening, June 10, 2018, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family.
Born August 21, 1923, in Coraopolis, she was a daughter of the late Curtis and Mildred Bennett Engle.
A homemaker, she was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church, where she served as a greeter for numerous years. She was head of the Women’s Committee at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, McKees Rocks, and was a member of Frankfort Springs Grange, where she was once named Woman of the Year for Pennsylvania. She was well-known for her homemade pierogies that she made for family, friends and church functions.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death May 27, 2013, by her beloved husband of 71 years, Leo Nadik Sr., whom she married November 14, 1941; a son, Michael Nadik; a grandson, William Nilon III; a son-in-law, Herb Roessler; four brothers, Curtis, Charles, Paul and Fred Engle; and a grandson-in-law, Gary Myers.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, Leo Jr. and Linda Nadik of Raccoon Township and James and Sherry Nadik, Elaine and William Nilon Jr., Barbara and John Thomas Kowcheck, Jean Roessler and Larry and Diane Nadik, all of Clinton; and a sister, Phyliss Kovach of California. She was the cherished grandmother of 17; great-grandmother of 29; and great-great-grandmother of nine.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Moody Funeral Home, 1227 Route 30, Clinton. Family and friends may meet at the funeral home Saturday, June 16, and proceed at 10 a.m. to Hebron Presbyterian Church, 1767 Route 30, Clinton, where services will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Lorrie Ghering-Burick, officiating. She will be laid to rest in Hopewell Hebron Cemetery.
Memorials in her name may be made to National Kidney Foundation or Multiple Myeloma Research.
