Joseph J. Embert

Joseph J. Embert, 85, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Monday, June 11, 2018, in Canonsburg Hospital, with his family by his side.
He was born March 28, 1933, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Joseph and Cecilia Patrina Embert.
Mr. Embert lived his youth in Houston, where he graduated with Chartiers High School Class of 1952.
After his marriage, he lived in Canonsburg for 61 years, where he was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.
He served as a corporal with the U.S. Army in Company C 26th Infantry regiment, during the Korean War, and was a member of American Legion Post 902 in Houston.
Mr. Embert was a baseball coach in both little league and Bronco league and was an active supporter of junior achievement.
Prior to his retirement, he had been a senior buyer for McGraw Edison Power Systems and Cooper Industries.
On November 24, 1957, he married Elaine Mancini, who survives.
Also left behind to cherish his memory are a son, Jeffrey J. Embert and wife Shirley of Canonsburg; daughter, Jamie J. Stiles of Lawrence; and four grandchildren, Justin J. Stiles, Jasmine A. Confort, and Makenzie and Jared Embert.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, and Darla Tripoli LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where a Catholic blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16. Interment will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Full military rites will be accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 and U.S. Army Honor Guards.
