Robert B. DeBlander

Robert B. DeBlander, 80, of McDonald, Mt. Pleasant Township, died Saturday, June 16, 2018, in his home.
He was born September 7, 1937, in Primrose, a son of the late Anthony A. and Lillian DeBiasi DeBlander.
Mr. DeBlander was a member of St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church.
He previously worked in the maintenance department at the state Department of Public Welfare.
Mr. DeBlander enjoyed hunting and fishing, Polka dancing and watching sports on television. He was a member of Midway SNPJ and its Button Box Club and McDonald American Legion.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Anna V. Slugo DeBlander; children Robert (Carol) DeBlander Jr. of Michigan, Debra A. (Wayne Cook) DeBlander of Imperial and Richard A. DeBlander of Primrose; grandchildren Robert B. DeBlander III and Sydney E. DeBlander; and a sister, Janet O’Donnell of Imperial.
Mr. DeBlander was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Harold DeBlander.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 314 West Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, 724-926-2800. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday June 21, in St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, McDonald. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Alphonsus Church, 219 West Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, PA 15057.
