G. William Gensler

G. William Gensler, 70, of Waynesburg, passed away Monday, June 18, 2018, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born January 13, 1948, in Moorefield, W.Va., a son of the late Ray William Gensler and Frances Inghram Gensler.

He was a 1965 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School and continued his education at Robert Morris University, from where he earned a degree in accounting. He later earned a degree in elementary education from Waynesburg University.

Mr. Gensler taught for more than 20 years in the Whiteley and East Ward elementary schools of Central Greene School District. After his retirement from teaching, he was an avid hobby farmer.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Waynesburg, where he served as Sunday school treasurer for 30 years. He was also a member of Waynesburg Lions Club and Greene County Farm Bureau.

Bill loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed antique vehicles and tractors.

Surviving are his wife, Joy A. Bigler Gensler, whom he married August 19, 1972; a daughter, Ann Inghram McCarty-Chess and husband Craig S. Chess; and two granddaughters, Madeline Elaine McCarty and Emily Claire McCarty, all of Waynesburg.

He also leaves his beloved dog, Polly.

Private services and interment are under the direction of Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg.
