Joetta H. Bristor

Joetta H. “Connie” Bristor, 89, of Washington, died Sunday, June 17, 2018, in Washington Hospital.

She was born October 9, 1928, in Vestaburg, a daughter of the late Horace Holloway and Elizabeth Marie Gallagher Holloway.

Mrs. Bristor was a 1946 graduate of Trinity High School and worked as a secretary for Erie Insurance for 17 years.

She was a member of Avery United Methodist Church and Avery United Methodist Women for 50 years. She was also a volunteer for the Women’s Auxiliary of Washington Hospital for 20 years.

Connie enjoyed bowling, reading, cooking, and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers.

She loved spending time with her family. They meant everything to her.

On June 28, 1949, she married Edward A. “Lonnie” Bristor, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Robert W. (Dena) Bristor of Washington and Kenneth O. (Rose) Bristor of Johnstown; a great-grandchild, Rayah Fornwalt; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two brothers, William Holloway and Bertrum “Butch” Holloway, and three sisters, Elizabeth McDonald, Dorothy Gough and Kathleen Cage.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 21, with the Rev. Eric Hoeke officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
