Frank Zimecki
Frank Zimecki, 94, of Washington, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018.
He was born May 15, 1924, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Walter and Mary Dobrowski Zimecki.
On August 22, 1953, he married Frances Mary Capanzzi, who passed away June 8, 1996.
He worked as a steelworker at LTV Steele, Southside Pittsburgh, for over 30 years.
He was in the U.S. Army – Anti-Tank Gun Crew, 893 Co-B Tank Destroyer – during World War II and received three bronze stars.
Frank is survived by two daughters, Ginny (Bill) Vitai and Annette (Steve) Scott, both of Washington; son Paul (Cindy) Zimecki of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, Amber Zimecki, Jessica Scott and Caitlyn Scott; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Patricia Zimecki; granddaughter Candace Vitai; and two grandsons, Paul Zimecki Jr. and Brandon Zimecki.
At the request of the deceased, services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington.
