Jeanette E. Tenney-Skobel

Jeanette E. “Nettie” Tenney-Skobel, 40, of Navarre, Fla., formerly of Greene County, died Monday, February 26, 2018, in Fort Walton Beach (Fla.) Medical Center after a two-year illness.

She was born Tuesday, March 22, 1977, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Virgil R. Tenney Sr. and Gertrude Redman Tenney.

She loved helping others. She received her RN nursing degree from Columbia Southern University. Her children were her world. She loved butterflies. Her sister’s words to her were “Butterflies are free and full of life. They are beautiful and no matter how far away they fly, they always find their way home.”

Surviving are a daughter, Kyleigh M. Skobel; and a son, Nathan T. Skobel, both of Florida, three sisters, Venus Hanlin of Waynesburg, Nenamosha King of Jefferson and Konswalia Tenney of Spraggs; four brothers, Douglas Tenney of Sharon, Lonnie Tenney of Washington, Eric Tenney of Spraggs and Jeremy Tenney of Centerville; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a brother, Virgil R. Tenney Jr.

She donated her body to help others.

There will be a greeting of friends from 5 to 7 p.m., the time of memorial service, Thursday, March 22, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, with the Rev. John Poling officiating. Burial will be private.
