Bernard C. Bakaitis, 79, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Friday, March 2, 2018, in St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon, and is now at peace with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He was born June 3, 1938, in Muse, a son of Anton and Anna Zamas Bakaitis, who preceded him in death.

On August 12, 1961, he married Peggy Jo Francis, who survives.

Mr. Bakaitis was a member of Peters Creek Baptist Church in South Park. He was the owner and operator of Rebecca’s Quality Candies for over 25 years in Houston.

He had many interests including, fishing and building model airplanes, and he had a passion for classic cars.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Bernard C. Bakaitis (Erika) of Canonsburg; five grandchildren, Zachary, Sierra, Christian, Breanna and Rachel Bakaitis; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Bakaitis; four brothers, William, Clarence, Edward and Albert Bakaitis; and three sisters, Ann Bianchi, Nell Lombardo and Opal Chambers.
