Donald Anthony Muncie, 82, of Washington, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018, in Hawthorne Woods Assisted Living, South Strabane Township.

He was born August 31, 1935, in Washington, a son of the late Nicholas Muncie and Catherine McManis Muncie.

Mr. Muncie attended Wylie Avenue School and Trinity High School. He graduated from Washington & Jefferson College with a bachelor’s degree in economics.

He served in the U.S. Army as a radio operator during the Korean conflict.

Mr. Muncie worked in sales for Proctor & Gamble for 30 years.

He was Methodist.

Mr. Muncie loved riding horses when he was young and loved his wonderful family.

On September 30, 1972, he married Harriett Jane Grubb, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Donald N. Muncie and William (Tracy) Muncie, both of Washington; two daughters, Sonja (James) Kowcheck of Washington and Julie (Alvaro) Castellanos of Pittsburgh; a sister, Rose Novell of Heath, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Zachary Muncie, Kevin Muncie, Jerrica Kowcheck, Janice Kowcheck, Jillian Kowcheck, Daniel Kraus, Mallorie Lamia, Heidi Castellanos and Tedd Castellanos; and two great-grandchildren, Brandon Kowcheck and and Alexander Lamia.

Deceased are a daughter, Brenda Kraus, and four brothers, Joe, Henry, Richard and Nick Muncie.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 10, with Pastor Sue Petritis officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
