Isabelle Passante
Isabelle Passante, 92, of Canonsburg, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018.
She was born June 7, 1925, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Patsy and Frances Pepe DeFilippo.
She was a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church.
She spent her early years working at Dravo in Pittsburgh and Fashion Hosiery in Canonsburg. After having children, she was a devoted mother and homemaker who enjoyed playing cards and bowling with her sisters and friends. She also volunteered at Canonsburg Hospital and worked driving school children for many years.
She was an exceptional cook and loved using the many homegrown vegetables from her father’s garden. She embraced life and her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. She burst with pride when she spoke of anyone in her family.
Surviving are her sons, Jack Passante and wife Nancy of Aldie, Va., Bob Passante and wife Janice of Eighty Four; daughter Susan Passante and husband Todd Williams of Canonsburg; sister Beverly Lytle of Canonsburg; grandchildren Shana (Zack) Sams and Mehgan Passante of Aldie; great-grandchildren Bryce, Ashton and Zack; and several nieces and nephews.
On May 25, 1947, she married her husband of over 40 years, Jack T. Passante, who passed away February 19, 1988.
In addition to her parents and her husband, deceased are her brother, Michael P. DeFilippo, and her sisters, Theresa Imperatore and Clara DeJohn.
Friends will be received 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 12, in Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, 112 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, with Pastor Don Coleman officiating. Friends and family attending the funeral are asked to meet at the church.
Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
