Larry Elliott

Larry Elliott, 88, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018. He was currently living in Lewes, Del., but was a longtime resident of McMurray.

He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Jeri Vesely Elliott and loving father of Rod (Carolyn) Elliott of Lewes. Mr. Elliott was very proud of his grandchildren, Clara, Sylvie, Alodie and Nathaniel.

Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his daughter, Teri Lynn; his parents, William and Harriet Elliott; and four siblings, William, Rodney, Jean and Nancy.

Following his service in the U.S. Army, Mr. Elliott and his brother, Rod, owned Elliott Surveying Inc. Years later, he opened his own company, Lawrence R. Elliott Surveying.

Mr. Elliott found time to devote a great deal of energy to supporting the Peters Township library, rotary and fire department. In fact, he was even named an honorary fireman.

Almost daily, he could be found at the local Eat ‘n Park, enjoying the food and camaraderie. He loved to laugh, share a good joke and conversation and follow the Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Steelers. He also loved the game of golf. He appreciated kindness and valued friendship. Mr. Elliott was truly loved, and he will be missed and remembered.

Friends and family are welcome from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 17, in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peters Township Public Library.
