Ralph A. Smith
Ralph A. Smith, 74, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Monday, March 12, 2018, in St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.
He was born June 9, 1943, in Canonsburg, to Ralph and Anna Behum Smith, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Smith was a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his bachelor of science and master of science degrees. He was employed by Bethel Park School District as a math educator for 40 years until his retirement. He was the rifle coach and enjoyed working with students and teaching them new skills.
He currently was employed by his family owned business, AJ’s Processing in Washington.
Mr. Smith had many interests, but above all he enjoyed family, friends, farming and being in the outdoors surrounded by nature and animals.
He is survived by his two daughters, Erin Joseph of Washington and Kristin Smith of Clarksville; and five grandchildren, Austin and Abigail Joseph, JR Wolen, Trent Wolen and Molly Smith-Gullett.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD, owner/supervisor, Darla A. Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 16. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
