Richard H. Cook

Richard H. “Cookie” Cook, 76, of McDonald, passed away peacefully Monday, March 12, 2018, in Donnell House, Washington.

He was born October 13, 1941, in McDonald, to the late Robert and Vera Chambon Cook.

Mr. Cook was a 1959 graduate of McDonald High School.

He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Garin Trucking, Ferri Contracting, MacIntyre Equipment, Weavertown Transport and Casper Colosimo and Son. He was a member of Local 66 of Operating Engineers.

Mr. Cook enjoyed refinishing antique furniture, going to casinos and especially having family and friends at his house.

In addition to his wife, Judy Williamson Cook, surviving are three sons, Scott of Georgetown, S.C., and Brian (Renea) and David, both of McDonald; five special grandchildren, Sarah “Pooh,” Stephanie “Teppi,” Taylor “Rental,” Matthew “Matt-too” and Mitchell “Geno”; brother Robert of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two sisters, Karen (Denny) Cooper and Jill (Robert) Parkison, both of McDonald; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a brother, William, and four sisters, Frances Hookey, Jackie Benard, Vera McSuley and Joan Barcoski.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Concordia Hospice of Washington, Donnell House, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301.
