Vera Catherine Martin, 94, a lifelong resident of Burgettstown, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, March 13, 2018, in her home.

She was born April 15, 1923, in Burgettstown, a daughter of the late James and Egla Collogra Martin.

A graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown, she worked as a clerk at Horovitz Department Store, Delfrate Packing in Slovan and Burgettstown UniMart.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Burgettstown.

She enjoyed Ladies Bridge Club and embroidery.

Surviving are her nephews, Joe Martin (Leslie), Tom Martin (Kathy) and James Nicksick (Kay); three great-nephews, Todd Martin, Scott Martin (Heather) and Eric Nicksick (Annie); two great-nieces, Lindsay Weissbratten (Jarret) and Brea Nicksick; four great-great-nephews, Matthew Martin, Ian Martin, Tobias Weissbratten and Knox Nicksick; and four great-great-nieces, Katlin Coulson, Madeleine Weisbratten, Avery Nicksick and Makenna Nicksick.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a brother, Clair Martin (Ada); two sisters, Nell Nicksick (Dushan) and Joan Horovitz (Harold); and a niece, Helene Dal Canton (Bruce).

Friends will be received from 10 to 11:45 a.m., the time of departing prayers, Monday, March 19, in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 1109 Main Street, Burgettstown. She will be laid to rest in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Burgettstown.

Due to her love of reading, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Burgettstown Community Library, 2 Kerr Street, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
