Joseph Michael McCoy

Joseph “Joe” Michael McCoy, 57, passed away peacefully with family by his side January 21, 2018, in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Mr. McCoy was born August 18, 1960, to the late David “Ed” McCoy and Mary Jane Borkowski McCoy in Washington.

He graduated from Trinity High School in 1978. He served in the U.S. Army from 1980-1986, before settling down in Colorado Springs, where he lived until he passed away.

Mr. McCoy was an avid Pittsburgh sports and NASCAR fan. He also loved boating and fishing. Everyone that loved him knew he was the life of the party and could most always catch him in his Hawaiian print shirts.

He will be forever remembered by his wife of 36 years Robin Nelson McCoy; precious children Shannon, Scott, Stacylyn, Shane and Samuel; grandchildren McKenna, Wyatt, Jesse and Abbiegale; sisters Terri (Jim) Walker of Washington, Kristy McCoy of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Londa McCoy of Washington; and last, but not least, left to treasure his memories are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his best friend of 40 years, Tim Angott of Washington.

An open memorial celebration of Mr. McCoy’s life will be held at 2 p.m. April 7, in the recreation hall of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Washington. Guests are encouraged to wear a Hawaiian shirt or Pittsburgh Steelers attire in memory of Mr. McCoy.
