Dolores T. Hanlin
Dolores T. Hanlin, 84, of Slovan, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018.
She was a daughter of the late Samuel and Helen Marusak Testa.
She graduated from Union High School in 1952, relocated to Philadelphia and worked for Bell Telephone as a switchboard operator.
She met Frank Hanlin, and they married in 1953.
She and Frank relocated to Slovan in 1972. She worked at Filliponi’s Grocery Store and then at Walmart until 2014.
Mrs. Hanlin was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish as a volunteer at the grade school. She was also a member of Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters and church choir.
Mrs. Hanlin is survived by her husband of 64 years, Frank; her children, Debbie Eckrote and Frank Hanlin Jr.; grandchildren Jenny and husband Joey, Danny, Maggie, Tony and wife Lauren, Michael and Matthew; great-grandchildren Aidon, Grace, Ezrah, Atticus and Harrison; and a sister, Loretta Mihok of Ohio.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, is her sister, Ruth Ann Hall.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 1109 Main Street, Burgettstown. Immediately following the Mass, a luncheon and time of fellowship will be held at Veterans of Foreign Wars, 65 Run Street, Slovan.
In lieu of flowers, gift a “tree in memory” with Arbor Day Foundation or donate to Slovan Fire Department, Slovan Veterans of Foreign Wars Barto Post 6553 or Catholic charities in her name.
