Mildred Irene Johnson
Mildred Irene Johnson, 79, of Riverton, Ill., died at 9:05 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018, in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, Ill.
She was born February 9, 1939, in Mt. Morris, a daughter of the late Minor James and Lucy Virginia Pearl Presock Fordyce.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are two sisters, Shirley Caviness and Marlene Bennett, and a brother, Raymond Fordyce.
Survivors include four children, James F. (Melody) Taylor of Traverse City, Mich., Donald (Ann) Taylor of Interlochen, Mich., David (June) Taylor of Springfield and Katrina (Matt) Hill of Huntingtown, Md.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Grace Conklin of Waynesburg; brother, Paul (Sandy) Fordyce of California; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a resident of Riverton for 29 years. She worked at Walmart as a cashier, until her retirement after 15 years of service.
She was a member of Real Life Church and Eagles Aerie 437, both in Springfield. She also enjoyed traveling and doing puzzles.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., the time of service, Thursday, March 22, in Staab Funeral Home, 1109 South Fifth Street, Springfield, with Pastor Clint Cook officiating.
