Ronald C. Hordies

Ronald C. “Skip” Hordies, 85, of Houston, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 22, 2018, in TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg.

He was born January 3, 1933, in Houston, a son of the late Joseph and Marcella Herlin Hordies.

He lived his entire life in Houston. Mr. Hordies served with the U.S. Army and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 in Canonsburg.

He was employed at Shenago Steel on Neville Island and tended bar at the former Benny and Birches in Houston for many years.

He is survived by his twin brother, Donald C. “Fat” Hordies, with whom he made his home; his sister, Barbara Sikora of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are two sisters, Pauline Raciborski and Elizabeth Kudlac.

He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Benji.

His friends, Sally and Keith, along with AGH Hospice, provided help and friendship to Mr. Hordies.

Friends and family are welcome from 3 until 7:30 p.m., the time of service, Monday, March 26, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD, owner/supervisor, and Darla Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. Private interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township, will follow.
