Doris W. Nevin
Doris W. Nevin of Washington died Monday, March 26, 2018, in Premier Washington Health Center.
She was born September 30, 1929, in Washington, a daughter of the late John L. and Myrtle Stauffer Whiteman.
Mrs. Nevin was a graduate of Washington High School.
She was a member of Laboratory Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and was actively involved in Presbyterian Women. She was a former member of Church of the Covenant.
On June 6, 1950, she married J. Richard Nevin, who died March 2, 1988.
Surviving are a son, Richard “Rick” L. (Janet) Nevin of Washington; daughter Jenny (Fred) Allen of Washington; two grandchildren, Pamela (Stephen) Koppes and Randall (Amanda) Allen; four great-grandchildren, Amelia and Adelaide Allen, Connor Daetwyler and Carson Koppes; and a stepgreat-grandchild, Cameron Stepp.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Irvin Sanders.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and from noon to 1 p.m., the time of service, Saturday, March 31, in the Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington. Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, director. Pastor Donna Christopher will officiate. Interment in Washington Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to Laboratory Presbyterian Church Love Fund or the Washington Area Humane Society.
