Robert Martin Hubeaut

Robert Martin “Hubie” Hubeaut, 81, of Point Marion, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh, surrounded by his loving family.

A son of the late Henry Howard and Marie Adams Hubeaut, Bob was born January 22, 1937, in Morgantown, W.Va.

A 1956 graduate of Point Marion High School, Bob was previously employed as an artist at Houze Glass Factory, later at Fort Martin Power Plant and then retired from Cumberland Coal in 2001. At the time of his death, he was employed by Pines Country Club in Morgantown, doing maintenance on golf carts.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1954 to 1962 and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 747, American Legion 499 and Fraternal Order of Eagles 1932, all in Point Marion. He enjoyed golfing, watching Westerns, woodworking and bragging about his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, deceased are his brother, William Hubeaut and great-grandchildren Jacoby and Jovie Chicarelli.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Nancy Ridenour Hubeaut; children Martin Hubeaut (Susan Lewis), Denise Stewart and husband James, Renee Tucker and husband Tim and Patrick Hubeaut (Bethany Shaneyfelt); grandchildren, Bradley Hubeaut, Bethany Chicarelli and husband Josh, Michael and Molly Tucker, Nathaniel Brown, Kage Churby and Mila Hubeaut; and great-granddaughters Rowan Chicarelli and Nova Keener.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 5, when a prayer service will be held, followed by a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Hubert’s Roman Catholic Church, Point Marion. Interment, with military honors by Point Marion veterans posts, will be held in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.
