Dorothy J. Sowers

Dorothy J. Sowers, 87, of Washington, died Monday, April 30, 2018, in Washington Hospital.

She was born July 19, 1930, in North Fayette Township, a daughter of the late Hoyt and Ora England Hall.

Dorothy retired April 1, 1988, from Union National Bank.

She was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed building jigsaw puzzles, watching Gunsmoke and listening to country music.

Surviving are a sister, Alma (William) Woodhall of Natrona Heights; a brother, Raymond (Shirley) Hall of Mesa, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Brandy Tustin and Jonathan Tustin; many nieces and nephews; and her devoted friend, Tammy Riggle.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol A. Strogish; a sister, Lila Pleskovich; and a brother, Hoyt Hall.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, May 4, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 246 Muse Bishop Road, Muse, with Fr. George DeVille as celebrant. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
