John A. Herbst
John A. Herbst, 95, of McDonald, Mt. Pleasant Township, died Sunday, May 6, 2018.
He was born March 26, 1923, in Robinson Township, a son of Albert and Clara Berbach Herbst.
Mr. Herbst served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He then became a dairy farmer.
On April 19, 1975, he married Marcella P. Navadauskas, who died January 14, 2014.
Mr. Herbst enjoyed fishing and working on vehicles.
Surviving are a sister, Clara Mihalics of McDonald; two stepchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Walter and Thomas Herbst; and a stepchild.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, PA 15057. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, May 11, in St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, McDonald. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, McKees Rocks.
