Maymie Arlene Burns, 82, of Washington, died Saturday, May 12, 2018, in Donnell House, Washington, following a five-month illness.

She was born December 25, 1935, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sara Black Garrison.

A 1953 graduate of Canonsburg High School, she was a homemaker.

Mrs. Burns enjoyed artistic painting, bowling, cooking and reading mystery novels. She especially loved visiting her granddaughter in Ohio.

On May 9, 1959, she married David L. Burns, who died January 29, 1990.

Surviving are a daughter, Becky (Keith) Loughman of Washington; a sister, Doris Murray of Washington; a granddaughter, Raelyn (Matthew) Okerwall; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was expecting her first great-grandchild in September.

Deceased are five brothers, Harry, Robert, Charles, Edgar and Sonny Garrison, and two sisters, Sara Gardener and Patricia Macioszek.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., the time of service, Tuesday, May 15, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Rob Berk officiating.
