Judy Alderson Horosky

Matushka Judy Alderson Horosky was called by her savior Jesus Christ Thursday, May 17, 2018, peacefully in her home, with her husband John and family at her side.
She was born July 7, 1940, in Houston, to the late Robert And Helen Filius Alderson. Matushka Judy was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Cannonsburg, as well as churches in Moundsville, W.Va., Monesson and Philipsburg. She attended Chartiers-Houston schools.
While living in Punxsutawney, she worked in Punxsutawney Christian School and loved helping children. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was very active in Ladies Altar Guild in Monesson Church, where she was president and vice president of the Guild and initiated many fundraising activities.
Matushka Judy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Father John, and daughters Mary E. Crites and husband James of Washington and Teresa McGill and husband Dr. Bradley McGill of Punxsutawney. Also surviving are sister Dorothy Moore and husband James of Houston; six grandchildren, Thomas, Noah and Alexandria McGill and James, Nicole and Austin Crites; three great-grandchildren, McKenna, Brantly and Madelyn Crites; and many relatives and friends.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney, where a Parastas will be held at 8 p.m. with Father Bill Evansky as celebrant. An additional visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, in St. John the Baptist Church, 601 Boone Avenue, Cannonsburg, PA 15317. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Chartiers Township.
