Dorothea F. Inserra

Dorothea F. “Dot” Inserra, 82, of Monongahela, died Sunday, May 20, 2018, in Mount Vernon of South Park.
Born June 19, 1935, in Monongahela, she was a daughter of the late Martin E. Frank and Barbara Ozvath Frank Hoade.
A graduate of Monongahela High School, Dorothea was a lifelong resident of Monongahela.
Last employed by Panasonic/Technics as a regional sales representative from 1978 until her retirement in 2000, she was an avid animal advocate, having a successful stint as a “pet nanny” since 1993.
Dot also was a longtime member of Monongahela Junior Women’s Club. She enjoyed her various card clubs and traveled extensively. Some of her favorite destinations were Hawaii, St. Maarten and, of course, her beloved Crooked Creek.
She loved her family, friends and all of her pets and will greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Surviving are daughter Eileen Inserra Davies of Sinking Spring; son and daughter-in-law Martin F. and Debbie H. Inserra of New Eagle; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha F. and Daniel Ghilani and Margaret F. and Stephen Fusco, all of Monongahela; two grandchildren, Sean R. and wife LeAnn Smith-Davies of Sinking Spring and Kristen B. Davies and fiancé Maxx Roccamanta of Shillington; stepgrandson Brandon Hickle and wife Abby Stark of Castle Shannon; and two nieces, Danielle Ghilani Kruczek and husband Jerry of North Strabane and Dawn Ghilani Schaffner and husband Steve of Louis Center, Ohio.
Deceased are her husband, Roland A. Inserra, who died February 14, 1993, and her stepfather, Clement T. Hoade.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 and 8:15 p.m. Friday, May 25, in Marshall Marra Funeral Home, 216 Chess Street, Monongahela, 724-258-6767, at which time a service will begin, with Dennis Inserra officiating. At the family’s request, interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Animal Rescue League, a local Humane Society or the ASPCA.
