Deborah A. Dickinson
Deborah A. Dickinson, 68, of Ligonier, died peacefully Friday, May 25, 2018, in her home.
She was born November 24, 1949, in Brownsville, a daughter of Dorothy Deven Dickinson Herrington of Rector and the late John S. Dickinson.
Deborah graduated with a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Washington Hospital School of Nursing in 1973. She was dedicated to nursing and the care of her patients. She was employed as a registered nurse at Washington Hospital, until health issued forced her into retirement after 35 years of service.
Deceased, in addition to her biological father, are her stepfather, Bruce S. Herrington, who died in 2002, and her loving grandparents, Helen and Roy Deven and C.W. and Virginia Dickinson.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are a brother, Wakefield (Alison) Herrington of Ligonier; a sister, Jane (Wes) Bruggink of Pittsburgh; and two nieces, Madison and Morgan Bruggink.
Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Saturday, June 2, in J. Paul McCracken Funeral Chapel Inc., 144 East Main Street, Ligonier, with the Rev. Michael Peton officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Rector.
In lieu of flowers, Deborah requested memorial contributions be made to Action for Animals, P.O. Box 814, Latrobe, PA 15650, or to a local ASPCA.
