Karen A. Clark

Karen A. Clark, 61, of Washington, died Wednesday, May 23, 2018, in her home.
She was born March 20, 1957, in Fairfield, Calif., a daughter of Arthur and Kathleen O’Donnell Clark of Washington.
A 1975 graduate of Trinity High School, Karen received a bachelor’s degree from Slippery Rock University in 1979.
Mrs. Clark owned Gym Dandy, a gymnastics school in Meadow Lands.
For many years, Karen served as association state chairperson for United States of America Gymnastics and was secretary of Tri-State Gymnastics for many years.
During a gymnastics invitation competition, Karen was awarded the 2018 Heart of Gold Award.
On February 9, 2018, she married Melvin “Scott” Miller, who survives.
Also surviving are a brother, John (Shelly) Clark of Grafton, W.Va.; a sister, Vicky (Gary) Frey of Williamsville, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Edla Bradley of Washington; two nephews, Jeremy (Nicole) Frey and Matthew (fiancée Beth) Frey; two nieces, Amy (Billy) Barr and Lisa (Mike) King; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Mrs. Clark donated her body to science, in the hopes this could benefit cancer research and help others who are battling cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Matt Todaro officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at Magee Women’s Hospital, 300 Halket Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15213, or Gym Dandy’s Gymnastics Association, 345 Meadowlands Boulevard, Washington, PA 15301.
