Glenn Allen Burris Sr.

Glenn Allen “Pickle” Burris Sr., 73, of Mt. Morris, died at 5:41 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2018, in his home.

He was born Thursday, August 2, 1945, in Mt. Morris, a son of the late Benjamin “Benny” Franklin Burris Jr. and Dorothy E. Spicer Burris.

Mr. Burris enjoyed fishing and country western music. He loved singing karaoke. He also enjoyed taking his family to Ryerson State Park. He was a mechanic by trade, having worked at several auto repair shops.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Adkins Burris, whom he married July 10, 1973.

Also surviving are five daughters, Connie Burris-Taylor of Mt. Morris, Georgia Snyder of Pennsylvania, Tara Burris and companion Mark Bridge of Prosperity, Elizabeth Burris and companion Ernest Morris of Bobtown and Crystal Carpenter and husband Brian of Washington; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Clara Sue Lemley of Waynesburg, Mary Lynn Beard of Waynesburg and Dorothy Jean Squires of Mt. Morris; four brothers, William Dewayne Burris Sr. of Warren, Ohio, Fred Franklin Burris of Houston, Harry Robert Burris Sr. of Houston and Frank Jackson Burris of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a son, Glenn Allen Burris Jr.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Wednesday, November 7, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478, Mt. Morris, with Pastor David McElroy officiating. Burial will be in Garards Fort Cemetery.
