Norman F. Hainer Sr.
Norman F. Hainer Sr., 76, of Washington, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
He was born May 11, 1942, in Washington, a son of the late Leslie Blaine and Catherine Highberger Hainer.
Norman was a 1962 graduate of Trinity High School. He completed his apprenticeship at Kelly Industries and worked in various glass factories and mold shops until his retirement from Ross Mold, Washington, in 2004.
Norman was a hard worker and enjoyed the many friendships he made over the years. He was an outdoors man, enjoying hunting and fishing.
On June 12, 1965, he married Joyce McGrady, of Malden, who survives. They enjoyed 53 wonderful years of marriage, in which she lovingly cared for him until the end. He was the love of her life.
Also surviving are three children, Amy (David) Aubrecht of Mars, Laura (Frank Martinelli) Hainer of Elizabeth and Norman (Kelly) Hainer of Westlake, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Max and Gus Aubrecht of Mars, Eugene, Morgan, Caleb and Tre Turner of Pittsburgh, and Jake and Evan Hainer of Westlake; a brother, Blaine (Christine) Hainer of Washington; two half sisters; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. Norman also left behind many longtime good friends and neighbors.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a grandson, Benjamin Aubrecht.
Lone Pine and Amity fire departments were dedicated in their service and help.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, where funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, November 8. Interment will follow in Lone Pine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lone Pine or Amity fire departments, or a charity of one’s choosing.
