Robert Lloyd Gillis Sr.
Robert Lloyd Gillis Sr., 85, of Tower Hill No. 2, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018, in Uniontown Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
He was born October 18, 1933, in Low Hill, a son of Demora L. and Nellie Ammon Gillis.
In addition to his parents, deceased are two brothers, William Raymond Gillis and Melvin D. Gillis.
Lloyd proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was employed by Columbia Gas for 32 years.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth E. Lilley Gillis; two sons, Nelson D. Gillis and fiancée Deborah A. Thomas of Allison No. 2, and Robert L. Gillis Jr. of Scottdale; grandson Robert Lee Gillis of West Virginia; brother John Gillis and wife Lisa of Malden; and several nieces and nephews.
Lloyd’s family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Kish-Fabry Funeral Home Inc., 19 Legion Street, Republic, where his funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, with Pastor Michael Lyons officiating. Entombment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, with full military rights and honors accorded by George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood.
