Harry J. Verlato Jr.

Harry J. Verlato Jr. of McMurray passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 18, 2018.

He was born August 20, 1944, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Harry and Josephine Marra Verlato.

Harry was a graduate of Robert Morris University. He served in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard for 18 years.

Harry worked for 36 years in corporate America for 3M Corp.

Harry was a gifted musician and played in a band for 12 years.

Harry was a dedicated member of St. Benedict the Abbot Church, where he served as an usher and helped with the fish fry. He was an active supporter with Peters Township Public Library, was a member with the township planning commission but was most proud of the volunteer and outreach work he and his wife, Margaret, did for animal shelters.

His beloved wife of 51 years, Margaret Hostert Verlato, survives. He was the loving brother of Theresa Verlato Ludwick of Yardley and beloved uncle of 21 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Harry will be deeply missed by many and will remain forever in their hearts.

Friends are welcome from noon to 9 p.m. Friday in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 24, in St. Benedict the Abbot Church, McMurray. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
