Delores A. Bogus
Delores A. “Tootse” Bogus, 80, of Brownsville, Centerville Borough, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018, in her home.
She was born September 16, 1938, in Daisytown, a daughter of the late Paul and Anna Kushner Spitak.
Mrs. Bogus was a 1956 graduate of California High School.
She was employed at Centerville American Legion as a bartender for more than 30 years.
She was a member of Centerville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, where she also served as former president and secretary.
Delores was devoted to her family. She liked playing “The Legend of Zelda” on Nintendo. Her grandchildren would not play against her because she was too good. She also enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s sporting events and dance recitals. She loved crocheting and going to Bethlehem-Center football games, which she rarely missed.
On May 28, 1960, she married John “Sonny” Bogus, who died April 21, 2018.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandy Roux of Washington and Rose Bercosky of Centerville; six grandchildren, Brooke Whiting, Hayley Bercosky, John Bercosky, Robyn Roux, Roberto Roux and Alexander Roux; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, is a brother, Allen Spitak.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, with the Rev. Donald Chortos officiating. Entombment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Centerville American Legion Hancock-McCune-Horne Post 705 Honor Guard, 1101 Old National Pike, Fredericktown, PA 15333.
