William Albert Colantoni
William Albert Colantoni, 76, of Ohiopyle, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 21, 2018, in the emergency department of Uniontown Hospital.
He was born March 22, 1942, in Brownsville, a son of the late Albert and Marie Harosky Colantoni.
Mr. Colantoni was a 1959 graduate of Beth-Center High School and a graduate of California State Teachers College, where he received a bachelor’s degree in education.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
For over 20 years, Bill was employed as a park ranger at Ohiopyle State Park and was chosen ranger of the year for two consecutive years. He went on to become a park policeman, finally retiring in 2000.
Bill enjoyed being outdoors. He also enjoyed traveling and riding his motorcycles.
Mr. Colantoni will always be remembered for his loving ways by his family, friends and those he came in contact with. He was also a dog lover, especially of the four dogs he had during his lifetime.
Surviving are sister Marie K. Harless of Richeyville; niece Maria Szakal (Tony) of Calgary, Canada; and a great-niece Asia Szakal.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m., the hour of a memorial service, Saturday, December 1, in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville. Interment will be private in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of one’s choice.
